Cash box

Gloddaeth-Street-Llandudno

It appears that BT are saving some of their iconic red phone boxes from being scrapped, by converting them into cash machines.

This one appeared on Gloddaeth Street last month.

  1. wow – I’ve not seen one of those before – is it still owned by BT or has it been bought by a bank?

    • Apparently the bank or cash provider pays BT a fee to have their cash machine installed into one of the converted phone boxes.

  2. I love the idea. 🙂

  3. What a novelty!!. We got 1 of these original red phone boxes tucked away in a country lane. The last 1 i think in my area, bt ought to recondition the old ones and bring them back.they give a village or town charactor.

  4. Ha ha! I like this!

  5. That is super! A great way to repurpose the iconic phone booths! We have some of them in Florida – at Disney World in Epcot’s British section.

  6. That’s the smartest looking bank machine ever!:) I’ve only seen the ones being repurposed for wifi hotspots – it’s a great way to save these icons.

  7. Great idea!! I’d hate to see them go away altogether.

  8. A quirky money box. As long as a crane does not come in the night and spirit it away!

  9. I really like this too!

  10. Now why didn’t they think of it before?

  11. Great idea!

  12. Reblogged this on this 'n that.

  13. How original! Love it!!!
