A stop at the Rest and be Thankful Cafe

Rest-and-be Thankful-Llandudno

Here’s yesterday’s 1pm Great Orme Tour Bus, pausing to allow its passengers the chance of a ‘clifftop cuppa’ at the Rest and be Thankful Cafe.

This was the bus, in the same spot, back on a snowy day in January 2013.

  1. Did you get any snow there yet? 😉

    • No snow, only on the distant mountain tops… it very rarely snows in Llandudno 😉

  2. What a difference a year makes! I’ll be tempted by the cliff top cuppa. Enjoy your book Judy. I certainly enjoyed the film.

  3. It’s a wonder the bus didn’t get blown over. All the same. I’d be there, sipping a coffee. 🙂

  4. I bet it was a bit parky up there yesterday!!. I could just do with a lovely cup of char in that cafe while it blows a gale outside..must be open all year round then..respect to the people who run it… 🙂

  5. That little cafe looks rather isolated and alone way up there. I wonder if they get many customers other than the folks on buses.

    • Marine Drive is a very scenic toll road that takes you around the Great Orme from the North Shore to the West Shore, about four miles in length. The vintage bus does three trips daily, weather and demand permitting, at 11am, 1pm and 3pm… all year round. The cafe too is open all year round, from 10am. And you’re right, it is rather isolated!

  6. This photo makes me think you are out in the boonies!

  7. This almost has a desolate look to it like it might be the only place to stop for 100’s of miles. With the vintage bus, one might think this was taken years ago.

  8. It looks cold and desolate to me! I’ll stay in town for a tea please.

  9. The more isolated, the better! Bus or no bus I’m all for a cuppa on a blustery day. Wouldn’t mind a cream tea actually. It’s 11 pm, so what? 😉
