The Llandudno Boxing Day Dip 2014

These brave people plunged into the sea this morning as part of the annual Llandudno Boxing Day Dip. According to the announcer, the water felt equivalent to a very chilly -8C.

  1. This is the one time I’m glad I’m at home with the central heating on! These people are very brave & probably very cold. 😦

  2. – 8 °? Oh my goodness, yes that is cold! Brave people!

  3. That seems a bit extreme to me and yet so many people are doing it. It gives me a shiver just looking at the photo.

  4. You need to be very brave and foolish.

  5. I do not understand such people. But to each his/her own. I’ll sit by fire and with my love conspire…to do many more fun things than fall into freezing cold water! 🙂

  6. That happens here on New Year’s Day! Crazy!!

  7. Brrrrrrrrr… very brave indeed…. its snowin like mad here..looks very festive.. wonder if llandudno is deep and crisp and even!!.. 🙂

    • Not a flake to be seen in sunny Llandudno, Terry!

  8. I had fun dipping in! And was certainly not foolish;)

  9. I have left my bathing suit at home AGAIN!

  10. That is crazy!!!

  11. Ahem…I hope that you were able to get warm after jumping in the water and that you had a wonderful Xmas!

  12. EW! Definitely not my idea of a fun thing to do. 🙂

  13. I assume you didn’t get in, Geoff. You’ve always seemed so sane to me!

    • Petrea, I wouldn’t even dip a toe in there in the height of summer… so December is out of the question!

  14. That’s so freezing cold!

  15. oh my such brave people I would I would encourage them while hiding in a big woollen coat
