Evening on the Colonnade

The Colonnade, which runs from the Grand Hotel to the Happy Valley, was opened by Lord Mostyn on March 31st, 1932.

It’s 185 yards long, 14 feet wide and cost £6,500 to build. The designer was G.A Humphreys of Mostyn Estates.

  1. It’s very nice and I’d bet it would cost a little more to build these days! Hope you’re having a good day!

  2. Lovely lollipop lamp posts!

  3. Looks like a lovely evening, and a great route via the colonnade to happy valley! “Stairways to heaven”.me thinks.

  4. It’s a beautiful curve! Ha 😀

  5. i love those lamps!

  6. It looks like a pleasant evening to take a walk.

  7. Very pretty with the double globes, something I’ve mainly only seen with lamps in Europe or older paintings – it makes an elegant walk!

  8. An evening stroll along here in the summer would be lovely.

  9. Pretty street lamps and oh that blue!

  10. Looks like a nice spot and a nice day for a stroll!
