A walk around the Great Orme #5

Picture of the Great Orme Llandudno

We’re taking a break for a while, so we thought we would take you on a walk all the way around the Great Orme until we’re back. There will also be a few interesting facts mentioned on our walk, which we have compiled from various sources. Apologies in advance if any aren’t 100% accurate!

The next stage takes us past the ‘Nose Rock’, which is on the left.

Notice the gentleman in the distance, apparently he is over 80 years of age.. and walks around the Orme virtually every day of the year.

A look over the wall at this stage looks down towards ‘Pigeons Cave’.

A quarry was established here to produce stone for Telford’s Conwy Bridge and delivered to Conwy by boat, circa 1820. The wide shelf on the right is a popular place for sea angling.

  1. Nice angle on both of these shots. You’re quite an angler yourself! 🙂 And you’ve got a nose for good pictures!

But what’s the big deal about being 80? The older I get the more I realize that’s not old, that’s the new 60. Well, it could be. 🙂

  2. good for him, that’s awesome! i like both of these photos!

  3. Telford’s bridge is beautiful and it’s interesting to know that the stone came from here. Love the secret beach but won’t be standing on the shelf! Will catch the walker up for a bit of company. Is a cafe part of our itinerary?

  4. I see how that rock got it’s name. Good for that man, getting out everyday for a nice walk. Keeps him young!

  5. That man has the right idea for staying young!

  6. Lots of interesting facts coming out. I will pay more attention next time I go round.

  7. How inspiring – I need to take my cues from that man! The water is beautiful, well maybe not for swimming right now, but beautiful all the same:)
