The Nick Beer 10k memorial race set off from the promenade at noon today in damp, chilly conditions.
Here are some of the hundreds of runners who took part making their way towards and around the Great Orme.

I’m not sure how all those people fare when it is chilly wearing those shorts and t-shirts. I’m sure they warm up well enough once they get into motion but, I’d have to start out with a coat on.

Runners are a different breed when it comes to weather especially if a race is scheduled!

It looks wet and chilly there—bravo to the brave runners. Same weather as here I imagine. MB

Hats off to all those runners who came out in that weather, but perhaps they rather run in the cold than heat.

Having lived with a runner for god knows how many years, I know that many runners would prefer cool and damp conditions to hot and damp conditions! Personally, I’m not sure why people subject themselves to so much pain in any kind of weather, just to get a wee medal or some other token of their effort.

Wonderful capture and kudos to all those runners (having done it in a long ago life, I can appreciate the pain and hard work!) – what an event.

To those of you worried about us being cold – fear not, the body gets warm very quickly when running, being cold is the last thing on our minds. I thought runners were crazy until I tried it myself and now I’m hooked. It was a fantastic race today, thanks to everyone who came out to cheer us on – I’m sure that you were all much colder than we were!
